About Aaron…
Aaron Carroll — known in music circles as Device — is a drummer, sound designer, and sonic artist exploring the deep connection between audio, psychology, and immersive experience.
With over 20 years behind the kit and in the studio, Aaron merges raw performance energy with detailed, emotionally intelligent sound design. His work spans games, live performance, film, and experimental media—always rooted in the belief that sound is more than background. It's a living force that shapes perception, drives movement, and communicates what words cannot.
Based in Las Vegas by way of Colorado, Aaron has spent 8 years crafting interactive audio in the gaming industry, developing adaptive systems and cinematic sound worlds that respond in real time to the player’s actions. He works across disciplines—editing and mixing music, creating original compositions, designing sound effects, and building custom audio environments that blur the lines between art and technology.
As a drummer, and experienced live performer he brings physicality, sensitivity, and feel into every sonic layer. Sought after for his versatility, musicality, and improvisational abilitites; his creative process is equal parts instinct, science, and storytelling.
Whether he's mentoring students, building audio for games, or experimenting with rhythm as ritual, Aaron’s work centers on one core idea: music is a powerful, ancient kinetic language—one he speaks fluently.
